So, I bought a colouring book of mandalas, in a bid to do something relaxing and try to quiet the noise in my head. It's a pretty lovely book, and I'm enjoying picking colours and making patterns in how I'm using the colours.

But I'm gonna guess that the whole "adults colouring is a good idea for relaxing and meditation" thing did not mean for me to be doing it while watching The Walking Dead.

On the plus side, it is pretty relaxing, and I'm finally able to tell Cameron that I watched Season One, which he bought me years ago and that I've never watched until now.

Onward to Season Two, I guess!

I am celebrating Christmas by watching zombie movies. Which are particularly awesome when they have a narrator who sings (and sometimes raps! AWESOME!), as in Dead and Breakfast. Next, I think I will move on to Slither, so that I can add some Nathan Fillion to my celebrating. Because what is a holiday without Nathan Fillion? A sad one!

Dude, I would totally join whatever religion considered Jesus a zombie. YES! (Please don't hate me, if you're religious. I think I ate too much chocolate a moment ago.)

I actually had to stop at the mall earlier today. It wasn't that bad - I only had one store to go to, I got a parking spot about 7 spots away from the door to the store, and what I wanted to buy was on sale! And I'd only waited in line for like 5 seconds before a sales person came by and opened another register to let me buy stuff. Woo! So the rest of today has been baking, watching cheesy tv Christmas movies, and finishing up the scarf for Scott's cousin. I think it should be done before the end of the movie. Awesome.

Merry Christmas, y'all!

Yay! I have a new mouse at work. So exciting. My old one was nasty and...really damn old. And it didn't have a scroll thing, either.

Yesterday I hung out with my university friend Stina, who I hadn't seen in ages. Hooray! Very fun - we wandered around, window shopped, sniffed yummy LUSH products, and had dinner. She even waited in line at the bus station with me!

Tonight I am visiting Cameron! Hooray x2! We are going to watch movies with zombies and crazy clowns, and eat delicious food (and some not-so-good-for-you food), and have fun! I haven't had a movie night with Cam in a very long time, so it is exciting.

And yesterday, on my way to meet Stina, I stopped in a Propaganda, and oh my god, so many cute "One Angry Girl" bags! I need them all (except the one I already have, but I do need the matching wallet for that one now). Oh, to be independently wealthy. Or even just wealthy. Twice yesterday I ended up talking about winning the lottery with people; we all decided we'd splurge on something fun, and donate the rest (to various charities, and to TROMA films. Heh!). And then I promptly forgot to buy a lottery ticket (not that I do very often).

I had a really great weekend. My friends, Amy and Chris, are getting married Labour Day weekend. This past weekend was their Buck and Doe party, at Amy's parents' cottage north of Barrie. It's so beautiful and relaxing! Just what you need after battling horrendous traffic on the highway around Barrie. (WHY is there only one major highway going north in Southern Ontario? That is such a bad idea!) Went swimming in the lake, relaxed, chatted with people (including my first semester, first-year roommate from university, who I hadn't seen in years, and who is Amy's boss), played cards, gambled, ate good food, and slept in a tent for the first time in 11 years! I love camping, but I haven't had the chance to do it in many, many years, so I was revelling in my "fake camping" (pitching a tent next to a cottage is not camping in my world).

This is going to be a busy week. I was at the Island yesterday for work, and will be there again tomorrow. I am helping Nat for Amy's bridal shower this Sunday, so I've got games to organize and plan. I have freelance editing to finish up for a company. I am going to copyedit my neighbour's paper that is being published. Tonight I am going to buy a video camera for work. I should try to expand my culinary horizons and try to make something other than veggie stirfry or veggie burgers for dinner sometime this week. It should be all good, though. And I am looking forward to my regular Friday off. I think I might try to rent a kayak and go out on the Speed River for an hour or so on Friday, if I have the time. I haven't kayaked in years, and I'd like to! (I did have the opportunity to kayak on the weekend, but I didn't get around to it. Silly me, passing up the free opportunity so that I can pay for one later.)

What's new with you, flist? What are you up to this week?

I'd been really dreading this week, but the awesome keeps on coming.

Last night, I get an email from the Lush store at the Eaton Centre - I've won their monthly prize! (Sweet, especially considering I'd only signed up the day before.) I am going to pick that up on my way home tonight. It's a gift box of stuff - exciting.

Today, no annoying co-worker (she is on the Island)!

There are oatmeal raisin cookies!

I watched Hot Fuzz last night with fun peeps. (And then we watched SYTYCD.)

On my way to the office today (I took the subway, because I had to stop off at the ferry docks first, and I didn't want to walk from the Bay/Queen's Quay to Yonge and Bloor in this nasty heat), as I got off the train at Bloor station, who do I see walking towards me but the awesome [livejournal.com profile] vitaminbootay! Yay!

Scott and I slept in the basement last night because our house was 29C. But the basement was cool, and I didn't keep waking up because of the heat, which happened the night before.

I put a new batch of fun music on my ipod, so I have more new stuff to listen to on my rides in and out of the city. Yay!

And, because I'm alone in the office, I can wear whatever the hell I want. I am wearing my blue Mates of State horse t-shirt, dark denim capris I bought on Monday, my Emily Strange "I wanna be your cat" watch, my silver Irish knot ring, my silver pointy ring (it was made by one of the seniors who volunteers where I work), and my brown sneakers. And I'm using my sunglasses (sparkly black, but in an understated way) to hold my hair out of my face.

So, what are you wearing? Is there anything awesome going on with you? Are you liking the weather wherever you are?

My sister is apparently a catalogue freak. She gets tons of them, and they are all coming to my house, since she used to live here. The latest one, though? It's awesome! Why?

Because for the low, low price of "$8,999.95 ($500)" (I don't understand the $500 in brackets), I can buy fucking Zoltar!

Dude! ZOLTAR!

I like getting out of work early.

It means not being annoyed at staying an extra hour, because that hour was filled with talking to fun people, and not doing work!

It means coming home and finally sitting down to find the serenity viral marketing clips, and watching them! (Seriously, Firefly fans. Watch them if you haven't already - check the Multimedia section at summer-glau.com.)

It means watching the against me! video one more time before the service decided it didn't want me to watch any other videos.

And now it will mean putting on cds I haven't listened to for a while, singing along, and perhaps doing something creative. Woo!

Happy long weekend, y'all.

(All these exclamation points are in part due to trying not to think about what's going on in New Orleans.)
