Stories like this get me every damn time. I aspire to be able to do stuff like this. (And then I start to wonder why it's so rare to see stories like this the rest of the year, and then I start to dislike humanity again, and I don't want to dislike humanity at this time of year, so I just suck it up and go about my business.)
