A couple hundred, I guess. I'm too lazy to count, but I know I'd like to own more.
2) The last book I bought?
Every Boy's Got One, Meg Cabot. Sometimes I just need something light and fluffy to read.
3) The last book I read?
am reading - Baseballisimo, by Dave Bidini. I'm not a huge baseball fan, but this is an entertaining book.
4) 5 books that mean a lot to me:
The Power of One, Bryce Courtenay - I could read this book over and over (and I have), and I never tire of the stories, the description, everything.
Mama's Going to Buy You a Mockingbird, Jean Little - so touching, it makes me cry.
Long Walk to Freedom, Nelson Mandella - his autobiography. I remember that my mom thought I was really weird when I asked for this book as a Christmas gift, but she gave it to me anyway. It makes me sad that I live in a world where the things Mandella had to endure happened, but I'm glad I got to see some of them rectified.
Little Critter at Scout Camp, Mercer Mayer - it was given to me in 1993 by "Mickey", a woman I really looked up to. She'd been my councillor the first year I went to Guide Camp (1989), and I saw her there every year afterwards, including my last year there when I was essentially a councillor-in-training, which was a four week program. She was leaving camp for the summer during my third week there, and she gave me the book because she thought I'd make a great councillor, and I needed to start my book collection for kids. It was a huge help to my self-esteem, and even though they didn't hire me the next summer, I still remember how she made me feel. I think she knew that it was what I needed. Plus, she was the coolest councillor there, and she gave me the present.
