I am cranky today for some reason. Today started out well enough; I got lots of reading done before work this morning, and I realized that I don't have to be on the phone for most of today since it's my catch-up day, and I chatted with a co-worker because my in-class instructor for my book design class is her friend from university. But when I had to get on the phone for covering lunches, I just got the stupidest/rudest/racist people, and I am GRUMPY and you can totally tell when I'm talking to them, which normally doesn't happen at all because I usually remain all cheery and puke-ishly nice but that ain't happening today. And I DON'T CARE!!!!

But:

"I don't want to sponsor a coloured child. I want a white child."

Fuck! You!

"I think someone in your office took your letterhead and coloured this picture and pretended it was from my sponsored child because I'd called earlier to find out why I haven't received my annual progress report, and you're trying to make me shut up. Cancel all my sponsorships! God bless you!"

FUCK. YOU.

Grr.

And soon we're having a stupid meeting where we have to shut the phones off so our department head can show us how to fill out a time sheet. Because apparently it's a stupid time sheet that is not straight-forward or something. Or he thinks we're all braindead. RIDICULOUS!

I have no patience today.

People actually indirectly say they don't want to sponsor a child that isn't white? Can I have their addresses and phone numbers please?

Yes, so we can go egg their houses!

(I realised that Bex said "addresses" and felt dumb, so I deleted my comment and wrote another.)

(I haven't checked my email yet, so no worries.)

I'd be all over egging their houses. I cannot believe some people sometimes.

Not even indirectly. Straight up "I want to sponsor a white child". That's not too often, usually it's "I would prefer to sponsor a Christian child", in which case I'm all "Well, then go with an organization that focuses on religion. We don't."

People make me so mad. I would love to give out addresses and phone numbers, but that'd get me fired, sadly.

Totally. They tend to put me at a loss for words when I'm talking to them. Jerkfaces.

Frig, I don't know if I could deal with that.

It's happening more and more frequently lately, to all of the people that deal with the sponsors. It's fucking ridiculous.

This just sounds painful...

As for the timesheet, there's nothing I hate more than somebody coming in to waste two hours explaining something that should only take 15 minutes tops. Or else there's the fellow employee who asks every obscure question to make the pain last longer.

There seems to be both those types of people in my department. Makes for some exciting meetings, I can tell you. :)
