1. Zombie movies! I met up with Le Cam on Monday to watch Resident Evil: Extinction, and while it had some supercheeze moments, I enjoyed it. I was particularly enchanted by the zombie crows. And I just finished watching Shaun of the Dead, which I found so many more things to love about it than I noticed the first time I watched it.
2. 4 day weekends! I always have Fridays off, and this Monday is Thanksgiving, one of my favourite holidays.
3. National holidays for my birthday! Canada is having a national holiday just for ME! Apparently turning 30 is important.
4. Finding out that my work owes me over $200 because the payroll stuff was set up wrong and they were taking off too much for my benefits. I guess, to be specific, I am happy about finding out that they will pay me this in one chunk, instead of some other way, like just not taking benefit payments off for a while or something.
5. Doing something really stupid (namely, not doing anything, and knowing at the time that it is stupid to not do anything and that it is going to backfire on me, but because of my anxiety issues, not doing anything anyway), and Scott being really understanding and wonderful about it when I was totally worried about how he'd react.
6. Being able to spend a chunk of my day off watching movies, including ones about dancing and singing penguins.
7. Only spending $6 on Hallowe'en decorations and finding some really awesome and cute things (like bats and ghosts). And setting up our Peanuts "It's the Great Pumpkin!" ornaments and enjoying them all month.
8. Finding out that I could get Scott the absolute most ridiculous gift for his birthday, if I wanted to (he could party with Paris Hilton on his birthday in Toronto, if he wanted to! For only $20! How fucking hilarious is that?). And him thinking I'm only a little bit crazy when I told him.
9. Having a superawesome co-worker who is constantly looking for fun things I can do with her at work. Next week, I get to go with her for Lunch Bunch (a monthly trip to a restaurant with seniors) to the Peartree Restaurant and to a tour of Riverdale Farm, and I've never been to either place! And, she's insisting on buying me lunch, because she's super sweet.
10. Making a (Curried pumpkin) soup for our seniors' Thanksgiving dinner (that was actually a lunch), from a combination of two recipes, neither of which I've made before, and everyone loving it, even my awesome co-worker who hates pumpkin and who only tried it because she asked me to make it.
Anyone else who'd like to do it is now tagged.
